Rainfall above normal
New Delhi, June 14: The country has received five per cent more rainfall than the normal limit until now even as northwest India, the southern peninsula and Central India have received below normal rainfall, the MET department today said. Overall, the country received 53.5 mm of rainfall as compared to normal rainfall of 50.5 mm of precipitation from June 1 till date.

MP clarifies on Act
ITANAGAR, June 14: The Arunachal Pradesh District Based Entrepreneurs and Professionals (Incentive, Development and Promotional) Act 2015 was passed and implemented to ensure equitable participation of young contractors and professionals in contract works in their respective area, said Member of Parliament Ninong Ering.
While reacting to a press statement by a certain association which was published in sections of local dailies today, Ering said that implementation of the Act will also enable the contractors of Arunachal Pradesh to compete in tender/bid involving huge amount.
This act has been approved taking into consideration the interests of the people and contractors of all categories and any revocation and modification of the Act will mostly hamper the petty contractors, he said.
“The pressure group should take all these points into consideration before coming into any hasty and illogical conclusion,” he added.
Lok Adalat at Aalo and Tawang
ITANAGAR, June 14: The court of Chief judicial Magistrate, Aalo disposed 12 bank loan recovery cases in the monthly Lok Adalat held yesterday. With the court settling 12 more cases, the cases disposed in Lok Adalats held in various courts yesterday totaled 68, informed Arunachal Pradesh State Legal Services Authority.
Meanwhile, 11 cases out of thirty three were disposed off during the National Lok Adalat being conducted by the civil court Tawang district in association with Arunachal Pradesh State Legal Service authority on Saturday in Tawang. The Lok Adalat was chaired by JMFC Tawang Tailing Laji along with the members Padmashree Lama Thupten Phunstok, Pema Chowang and Jambey Tsering Advocate Tawang, a release informed.

Assam asks for forest battalion camp inside border forest
Tezpur (Assam), June 14: Assam government has asked the Forest Department to set up a forest battalion camp inside the Behali Reserve Forest to prevent recurring violence along the border with Arunachal Pradesh.
Leading a delegation yesterday comprising top officials of the state government to the violence site, where one person was killed earlier this month, Assam Chief Secretary V K Pipersenia said the camp should be set up as soon as possible to avoid repeat of any violent incident in the area.
The Chief Secretary was accompanied by the Director General of Police Khagen Sarma and Additional Chief Secretary (Home and Political) M G V K Bhanu among others.

People urged to donate blood to meet requirements
ITANAGAR, June 14: The World Blood Donor Day was observed here today with a call to donate blood voluntarily to meet the blood requirement of the state.
Organised by Arunachal Pradesh State Aids Control Society (APSACS) in collaboration with Health and Family Welfare Department and Arunachal Vivekananda Yuva Shakti, an NGO mainly dedicated to blood donation at Banquet Hall here, the Day was dedicated to late Lenin Tunghi, the former General Secretary of Arunachal Vivekananda Yuva Shakti, who played a vital role in promoting voluntary blood donation in the state. The former student of DNG College Lenin was felicitated posthumously on the occasion and the memento was received by his mother.
World Blood Donor Day is observed every year to raise public awareness about the importance of blood donation. The theme of this year’s campaign is “Thank you for saving my life”.
A blood donation camp was also organized at Banquet hall wherein Secretary, Health & Family Welfare Indra Mallo, Special Secretary, Health & Family Welfare Tariq Thomas, officers and officials of Health Department and young volunteers donated blood. The collected blood will be stored in the Blood Bank of RKM Hospital here. The annual blood collection in Arunachal Pradesh is 5000 units against the total requirement of 15,000 units, informed Dr. Nabam Budh, incharge Blood Transfusion Services, APSACS.
One out of 10 hospital patients needs a blood transfusion, he said, adding that 4.5 million lives in India are saved by blood transfusion every year.
Dr. Budh motivated public to donate blood voluntarily to fill the wide gap between demand and collection of blood. A healthy person can donate blood once in every three months, he said while informing that blood in human body is completely refreshed every four to six months. He, however, stressed the need for proper screening of every donor for any disease or infection before he/she donates blood.
Dr. Budh also said that blood donation reduces the cholesterol level of the donor thereby decreasing chance of heart attack/strokes even cancer.

Chairman of AVYS Ramesh Jeke informed that more than 12,000 people have benefitted from blood donation by the volunteers of the NGO till today. He emphasised on creating more public awareness on the importance of blood donation.

Org. question implementation of govt schemes

Daporijo, June 14: In a complaint to Deputy Commissioner, All Tagin Youth Organisation has informed that many central and state sponsored schemes in Upper Subansiri District, especially in Tagin inhabited areas are not being properly implemented due to lack of monitoring of work and its quality. ATYO informed that construction of road from Dumporijo to Hali under NLCPR Scheme has not been implemented properly but funds reportedly have been withdrawn completely. This scheme was under Dumporijo PWD Division.
They also questioned the fund management for Subansiri Bridge to Segi road under NLCPR.
Many schemes are not being implemented but its funds are withdrawn with the help of erring officers but no authority has come forward to monitor the work actually done, the students alleged.
ATYO appealed the govt to keep strict vigil and monitor the schemes sanctioned by govt especially in Upper Subansiri district, which has become a matter of serious concern as development works are not going as planned.
APLS announces results of essay competition
ITANAGAR, June 14: Mehung Paling and Mala Jomoh – both class IX students of JNV Seppa won the first and second prizes in senior category of the essay competition which was conducted on June 1 as part of state’s noted novelist and journalist Lummer Dai’s 75th birth anniversary of celebration.

Dear Editor,
Jonathan Swift’s Gulliver’s Travels, published in 1726, came in an age frequently referred to as the golden age of satire; the story begins with a short preamble giving a brief outline of Gulliver’s life. Few coarse metaphors are used in this piece of writing to describe human depravity which is best fit to contextualize our social, political and religious epoch.
In a democratic, socialist and secular country like India condemning religious practice
and belief is a blasphemy and passing anti conversion bills in the parliament is
vague and vain espousal. If every religious scripture theologically redress the spiritual
need of man there wouldn’t be conversion. Make a better Indian by a policy of better

All political party must adopt the religious tolerance. Indian history is best evidence that Brahmanic tradition had not only destroyed the true Hindu “the sanathan practice and belief” but also led to the downfall of many kingdoms and empires. Arunachal is becoming worst every passing day and the state production would be beggars and Governor should declare the financial emergency or the GoAP deem fit retire on moral ground. Our society has people who give meteoric appearance at election eve and hibernates rest of the period yet dreaming to become an MLA. I sensed that all the sequences and characters swift describes in his satirical novel depicts things fit most to the present society and this will not be too much to end here that this era is “Gulliver Returns.”

This is regarding the news item “Students against drugs and alcohol” in which you reported that “AdiSU in collaboration with Namsai Police recovered and later destroyed drugs and opium in and around Jaipur in Namsai District.
Local huts used as a hub for consumption of Opium were dismantled by the AdiSU members
and Police.” Great work by the AdiSU. This really this must be the motto of every

This work should have been carried out by other organizations as well. But I am indeed
very sad to say that local hubs for consumption of opium can be found within 1/2
Km in the District Headquarters-
Such hubs always encourage and attract the new generation and they easily become part of this group. Hope students will come out with numbers to dismantle all such hubs in and around Namsai Hedquaters very soon.
